As I sat behind the boards tonight I really felt overwhelmed with gratefullness at the fact that all this was coming together. In what would turn out to be one of the stormiest nights in recent Nashville memory, Farther and Faster (along with producer KS Rhoads) attempted to lay dreams down on tape.
As we were working on "Rest" it all seemed to come together in a very spiritual and emotional way for me. From the words to the music to the elements that surrounded the studio, it all cried out at once. The verse built into the chorus, the chorus began to swell, and at the same moment the winds whipped around the studio exterior, the thunder shook the factory payned windows, and the lightning colored the dimly lit room while the rain attacked the mop-tarred roof. It seemed God-breathed, God-annointed, God-blessed. It was as if God was putting his own twist on the production, and oh what a twist it was. In an instant I saw our future, my feeble existance AND the music video! These are the seconds you hold on to, the seconds when dreams are realized.
